Mustard Painted Roses and a Sea of Trees

There’s no debating that autumn is the most beautiful time of the year. Everywhere you look there are vibrant reds, oranges, and purples spread across a sea of trees and the temperature rarely dips below 40 degrees. It’s the perfect time to start incorporating your nylons into your outfits and sometimes your vintage fur stoles. I couldn’t have found a more perfect dress that allows me to combine all of these elements than this ‘Nova’ Mustard Painted Roses Print Swing Dress from Lindy Bop.

Lindy Bop has always been one of my favorite vintage reproduction companies ever since I discovered them in 2014. They’ve been creating affordable and quality pieces since 2011 and have quickly grown into a globally recognized brand. Over the years they have added new categories to their clothing line, such as shoes, petticoats and accessories, and all of them live up to the Lindy Bop standard we’ve come to know and love.

This ‘Nova’ dress is no exception, either. The details on this gown are absolutely stunning, especially the jacquard fabric. The neckline has a slight v-shaped dip towards the bust, but doesn’t fall below the middle of the chest plate, creating a subtle sultriness. The waistline is tucked, with the help of a beautiful burgundy belt, and the skirt is fantastically full and the perfect length for a petticoat.

And the icing on top of the cake with every dress is pockets! This beauty has deep pockets that were able to hold my keys and phone (iPhone 7 Plus) while heading out to take these photos. The fabric is somewhat heavy, which helped in the 40-something degree weather and the colors paired perfectly with my vintage fur stole. Needless to say, this has quickly become a fall staple in my wardrobe.

Lindy Bop has become very accommodating with sizing over the past year or so, adding sizing charts for individual garments as opposed to one overarching size chart. I find that I fluctuate between a S (UK 10) and a M (UK 12) with their dresses, but in this case I’m wearing a S and it fits like a glove. The material is a gorgeous jacquard fabric, as you can see in the picture above (and that I won’t shut up about because it’s stunning!), with a soft lined bodice. The dress is machine washable, as well.

The ‘Nova’ dress ranges from $47-52 and is available in three colorways: Mustard, which I’m wearing, Purple, and Red Raindrop. This is possibly the most well constructed dress I’ve received from Lindy Bop thus far and I would gladly pay that price for another colorway.

In terms of shipping, Lindy Bop has a U.S. based website and the original U.K based website, so prices will vary depending on which site you choose and where you’re located. Through the U.S. website, shipping is $7 throughout the country with free delivery on orders over $125. Through the U.K. site, shipping ranges from £2.99-4.99, with free shipping on orders over £70.

This has rapidly become my favorite dress from Lindy Bop, and if you’re been reading my blog for a while then you know I own many of their garments. The jacquard detailing on this beauty adds an extra touch of eloquence, while the slight v-neck dip creates a subtle sexiness. If you’re not into fall colors, then check out the other two colorways of this style. I can promise that none of them will disappoint.

  1. Ooooo you picked a goodie! I am happy to see they still use good fabrics SOMETIMES! I just got the gingerbread baking dress and was saddened to find it made out of scuba material. I kid you not. It was sent back, needless to say and now I have serious dress envy because this looks LOVELY on you! Yes, LindyBop knows how to make some dreamy dresses!
