Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, How Lovely Are Your Vintage Ornaments

The first snowfall of the season has landed in Boston and it’s finally beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. The decorations are out, the presents are wrapped, the stocking are hung (even some for the furbabies), and the tree is up. The only things missing are freshly baked cookies and some vintage ornaments– but it looks like I can cross one of those off my list with this perfect swing dress from Sourpuss Clothing.

Sourpuss Clothing was founded in 2001 with the simple concept of becoming a one-stop shop for those looking for unique accessories, apparel and housewares. Since the beginning, they’ve been independently owned and retained their DIY attitude, which stems from their long-time roots in the punk scene. Their overall aesthetic ranges from rockabilly to pinup, classic monsters to vintage and kitschy to punk, so no matter what your style, you’re bound to find something on their website.

This Vintage Ornament Swing Dress was clearly designed with the most flattering silhouette in mind. The bodice contains thick adjustable straps, allowing for a lot of support and coverage. It pulls in the waist, but not too tight, and flows out into a beautifully full, rounded skirt. The length falls right in the middle of the knee, making it perfect for a petticoat– although it’s got quite a bit of volume on it’s own!

Not only is the cut of this dress incredible, but the decorative details add an additional layer of beauty. The vintage ornament print is perfect for your Holiday pinup collection! The ornaments are ever so colorful and the print was designed in-house. And for some added whimsy, the neckline and hemline are covered in adorable mint-colored pompoms!

This dress runs small, so if you’re in between sizes it’s recommended that you size up. You can always contact Sourpuss directly for more sizing advice. For reference, I’m wearing my typical size, medium, and it fits perfectly. The dress is made from polyester, so it’s incredibly silky and has a little bit of stretch. It is fully lined, which adds that little bit of oomph in the skirt.

This gorgeous gown retails for $50 on Sourpuss Clothing’s website, which is a total steal. If you’re super keen on the whole Holiday thing, but aren’t quite sold on this dress, they have an entire Holiday section that’s sure to delight (but honestly, how could you not love this pretty!). Sourpuss does ship internationally if you’re outside of the United States, but delivery time can range from 6-28 days depending on which method you select and where you’re located. Domestic shipping ranges from 2-6 days depending on the method chosen and your location, and ll orders over $100 USD will ship free within the U.S.

This little beauty has inspired me to begin collecting vintage ornaments for a future Christmas tree (hopefully a silver or pink one). Pair this baby with a faux fur stole or Sourpuss’s matching cardigan and you’ll be the star on the top of the tree at your next Holiday party. For an even more complete look, check out the Luxulite exclusive for Sourpuss brooches and earrings that pair perfectly with this dress. I know I’ve got my eyes on a few of those pretties!
