Swirls of Sherbert, Tulips, and Spring Fever

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a spring as nonexistent as this one. There have been a few days that felt like spring was on the horizon, only to return to temperatures in the 30s and dash all our hopes for warmer weather. If you’re in the northeast, as I am, I’m sure you’re experiencing the exact same thing and going a little bit stir crazy. In light of this deception, I’ve decided to wear as many floral dresses as possible and I can’t think of a better one to start with than the Annie Retro Tulip Swing Dress from Dolly and Dotty.

Dolly and Dotty is a U.K. based company that’s dedicated to putting a modern spin on vintage fashion. Focusing primarily on the styles of the 1950s, Dolly and Dotty ensures their customers will receive high quality products with beautiful retro prints at affordable prices. Not only are their pieces extremely well-made, they’re also size inclusive- ranging from UK8 to UK24.

Now, I’m a complete sucker for a good floral print, so needless to say I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it. The bright pink tulips pop perfectly against the navy blue backdrop- it’s simply stunning! And the white accents throughout the flowers allow for the perfect pairing of white accessories.

In addition to the eye-catching print, the cut of the dress is incredibly flattering. From the u-shaped neckline to the pleated skirt, every detail is flawless. The bodice is form fitting, while the skirt flares out- not as much as your typical circle skirt- but enough to accentuate a smaller waist and accommodate a thinner petticoat.

The Annie is incredibly comfortable and provides just the right amount of stretch, especially for those of us who rather enjoy a few slices of pizza! It’s made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane, which lends itself to stretch. Like all of Dolly and Dotty’s dresses, the Annie comes in a wide range of sizes from UK8-UK24. For reference, I’m wearing a UK12 (I usually switch between UK 10-12 depending on the dress) and the waist has a little bit of extra room, so I probably could have stuck with a UK 10.

The Annie Retro Tulip Swing Dress retails for £39.99, or roughly $56.95 for those of us in the States. If you’re fond of the cut of this dress, but not the print, the Annie comes in a wide array of patterns and colors- but keep in mind that they don’t all cost the same price. Dolly and Dotty ships internationally ranging in price from £14.99 throughout Europe to £18.99 for the rest of the world. Shipping within the U.K. starts at £3.50.
