For someone who wanted to move out of Florida a badly as I did, it feels sort of wrong to admit that tropical prints are some of my favorites. I went from a place where I could have worn dresses covered in monstera leaves and parrots 24/7 to a place where winter lasts for five months. I guess I just came to appreciate those prints more, and the tropics themselves, once I moved away- and when I get a little bit homesick for the sunshine state, I can break out this fantastic Megan Dress in Black Tropical Palm from Karina Dresses’ new “Sunny Afternoon” collection.
You’re probably getting sick of me raving about Karina Dresses, so I’ll just say this: if you don’t already own one of their garments, then you’re doing things wrong. What more could you want than a breathable fabric that’s wrinkle-free, machine washable, and covered in some of the most eye catching prints around?
The Megan Dress is, hands down, my favorite style from Karina Dresses. I probably own about four of them and each one is more beautiful than the next. What originally drew me to this piece is the sleeves: a beautiful balance of classic 1940s poof with today’s more modest cap sleeve. On top of that, the neckline is perfect- not too deep, but just low enough to be sexy.
The waistline is accentuated by horizontal seams just below the bust and just above the natural curve of the hips. What seems like a small detail allows the skirt to effortlessly drape along the hips and accentuate every woman’s naturally beautiful curves.
The print of this dress is a story unto itself. If you’ve ever spent a night out in South Beach, Miami then you’re all too familiar with the colors on this gown. The black background provides the perfect canvas for the neon blue, sherbert orange, bright pink, and pastel seafoam leaves to pop- and this gal loves every bit of it.
One of the many reasons why I love Karina Dresses is their dedication to creating quality pieces that make women of every size look stunning. The Megan Dress is available in sizes XS-XXL and these dresses have quite a bit of stretch to them as they’re made from a micro-fiber blend of polyester and spandex. I’m wearing my normal size, S-M, and it fits like a glove, but if you’re unsure of which size to get check out their size guide!
The Megan retails for $108 and is worth every penny. Shipping starts at around $6 within the U.S., $20 throughout Canada, and $25 for the rest of the world. Keep in mind, though, that shipping is free for orders over $150, so it may be worth it for international customers to order more than one item.
