As a pinup, I have a natural affinity for brooches of all shapes and sizes. But being an American pinup can be challenging when most of your favorite brooch companies are literally on the other side of the world. Because of this it took me a while to finally make my first purchases from companies like Erstwilder and Kaiju Candy (both of which are based out of Australia). But fortunately, I stumbled upon an American stockist and and art gallery called Quirks!

Truth be told, I now buy pretty much all of my Erstwilder brooches from Quirks. They always release new lines at the same time the official Erstwilder website does and their shipping prices are incredible- starting at $1.95! And they very often run bundle deals where you get discounts for buying 3 or more brooches. To keep up with their latest releases, follow @lipstickandchrome on Instagram!

On top of Erstwilder and Kaiju Candy, Quirks! carries a wide variety of brooches from companies such as Little Moose (one of my favorites), Baccurelli (a highly coveted brand), Martini and Slippers, LaliBlue (who makes some of the most intricate plastic and wood pieces I’ve seen) and Spiro Spero. Most of these companies specialize in plastic-based or acrylic jewelry that’s visually stunning and worth every penny.

The one exception to this is Spiro Spero which makes modern pieces with vintage twists. Spiro Spero makes their jewelry from lucite- a highly popular plastic within the vintage community that was developed in the early 1930s, made available to the public in 1937, and remained popular well into the 1960s. Their range varies from chokers, necklaces, and brooches that feature illustrations of beautiful pinup girls.

But brooches aren’t the only things you can find at Quirks! You can find collectible figurines, garden accessories, beautifully crafted furniture and home decor, and so much more. Basically, if you’re looking for something whimsical- Quirks! has it.

But wait, there’s more! Quirks! has it’s very own art gallery that’s celebrating 21 years in Williamsburg, VA. To celebrate this momentous achievement, they’ve opened up a Sideshow gallery just around the corner featuring circus-themed glass, ceramics, wall art, fine jewelry and handcrafted furniture. And the best part is that admission is free! Now that’s a circus I can get behind. For more details, follow @shopthesideshow on Instagram!

I love being able to support this small business while purchasing some of my favorite brands. As mentioned before, they’re in sync with every Erstwilder release and I have no doubt that there’ll be another one in the near futures. So if you’re looking for an American stockist, look no further than Quirks! And to sweeten the pot, use code “lovemyquirks” for 10% off your next purchase.
